AVERAKS/Privacy
Privacy What we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.
Written in plain English rather than legalese, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it properly.
Last updated 26 September 2026Who we are
AVERAKS is an Australian studio that builds websites, apps and custom software. This policy covers averaks.com and the pages on it. Our client portal and our CRM are separate systems used to run projects we have been hired for.
Contact for anything on this page: admin@averaks.com.
What the enquiry form collects
When you send an enquiry, we receive:
- Your phone number. The only required field, because we ring every enquiry back.
- Your name and email, if you give them. Both optional.
- What you are looking for. The service and kind you picked, your budget if you entered one, your timeline, and how you heard about us.
We do not ask for anything else, and there is no account to create.
We send your number before you press Send
This one is unusual enough that it deserves its own heading rather than a line buried in a list.
As soon as you have entered a phone number and moved to the next question, that number and your name are sent to us, before you finish the form and before you press Send.
We do this because people often get interrupted halfway through and we would otherwise have no way to follow up. If you do not finish, someone from our team may call or text you about the enquiry you started.
If you would rather that did not happen, do not enter your number, or email us at admin@averaks.com and we will delete it.
What happens to it
- It is emailed to our team so someone can call you back.
- It is stored in our own CRM at crm.averaks.com so we do not lose track of you.
- If you become a client, it stays with your project records.
- If you do not, we keep it while it is still plausibly useful and delete it on request at any time.
We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. We do not send marketing emails you did not ask for.
Measurement, and what we can see
We use three services to understand how the site is used. None of them are advertising tools and none of them follow you to other websites.
- Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. Page views and load performance. Cookieless, and does not identify you.
- Microsoft Clarity. Records how pages are used: scrolling, clicks, and where people get stuck. Text you type into form fields is masked by default and we do not see it. Clarity is a Microsoft product and the recordings sit on Microsoft servers.
We use this to find things that are broken. In September we lost a month of enquiries to a form step nobody could get past, and had no way of seeing it.
You can opt out of all of it. Visit averaks.com/?notrack=1 once and that browser is excluded for good: nothing is loaded and nothing is recorded. A small "analytics off" label confirms it. averaks.com/?notrack=0 undoes it.
Who else touches your information
- Vercel. Hosts the site and runs the analytics above.
- Resend. Delivers the emails, including the one confirming your enquiry.
- Microsoft. Clarity, as described above.
- Google. Only if you leave us a review or find us through our Business Profile. That is between you and Google; we just see the review.
That is the whole list. No advertising networks, no data brokers, no tracking pixels.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is the analytics opt-out flag described above, and only if you turn it on.
Client pages
Two pages are for people we are already working with: the halfway check-in and the build tracker. They are reached by a personal link, are not listed in search engines, and are deliberately excluded from session recording. What you write in a check-in goes to our CRM and is read by our team.
Getting your information, or getting rid of it
Email admin@averaks.com and ask. You can request a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. We will do it, and we will not make you explain why.
If you ask us to delete an enquiry we will remove it from the CRM and from our records. Email already sent to our inboxes may persist in backups for a period after that.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top. This is version one, written 26 September 2026.
This is a plain-English description of what this website actually does, written by the people who built it. It is not legal advice and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
